Amazon description says they are the extended versions, while Walmart says they are the theatrical versions. Also I don’t think digital copy is included in case anyone is wondering

Maybe they corrected it, but Amazon now says Theatrical versions.

bugger, bought this for 32.96 2 days ago from walmart…. now i gotta decide if is worth walking into a walmart….

Good deal, better if they were all extended versions.

Great deal even better if it was extended versions

Sheesh. Every deal is better if you get more for the same price.

Some of the best movies of all time!

…and the Hobbit movies too!

Rewatching extended editions. Pacing matters. The extra content is nice but definitely slows the pace of the narrative. For me, theatrical is better, but then again, I’m not a Shire head. 😅

nice deal but is closer to regular price.

i bought off ebay for a few weeks ago.

reason i went with theatrical is someone made the point gimlee has tok much comic relief in the extended versions and kind of is annoying, and dont have to switch disc half way through each movie.

For me it’s not so much having the extended version of the movie, but I do like the extras/behind the scenes stuff (or at least I do on the LOTR set – haven’t gotten the Hobbit set yet to see what those are like). But still, this is a great price just for all the movies.

Agreed. The extended is nice to watch once to see the extra scenes, but it definitely slows down the movie, making it a bit of a chore to sit though, at least in one sitting.

I have both, and almost always put the theatrical run in if I feel like watching these.
Just call them up they will price adjusted.

Extended or bust!
