thanks!

my sons been collecting the cards (he’s only 5 1/2) and i’ve been wanting to get him some actual playable decks for him and i to start playing. great find!

Thank you I bought 2. I just bought similar trainer packs for the kids Christmas but spent double this.

Is one deck enough to get started or need more? Got a 6yr old that’s interested in Pokémon now but hasn’t got any cards yet.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter. I was looking for the cheapest way to figure out if she would like playing the game. I think this pack is good enough to see if a kid likes the concept. I would imagine they would want a more advanced deck soon after if they like the game. I didn’t want to spend much more than this in case she doesn’t like it or is uninterested.

In for 3, my sons (10, 6, 5) all collect, but was looking for a way to get them to play. I think this is going to be the easiest way. Great early stocking stuffer. REP

Thank you….. my son has a handful of cards….. Seems like a good deal. Been buying little-by-little to drop about a million gifts on them this year at this rate!

I started with one of these and a “battle deck” pack with my kids. We did the trainer kit about three times and it’s basically useless after that. For the few dollars it’s the cheapest and most straightforward way to learn the game.

After this Christmas we’ll have 10 decks we keep made up at all times.

The 2018 World Championship decks were just released and I snagged all three. They are a great value and my 6 and 8 year old can run them now, but they are not a day one option because the mechanics are not straightforward so it’s hard to add that on top of learning the rules.
My 6 yo son collects and trades with his friends. None of them actually play. We got two basic play decks that we keep separate from trading cards. We played it once, it was long, I had to throw the game to end it and let him win.

The trading were concerned with because he might trade away good cards just to keep others happy.

We just bought a dragon majesty set.

We got card sleeves (maybe for a pack of 50) for the different decks: red, blue, and dragon. They help keep everything separate. Most importantly, they keep the complete evolution sets from being traded away. And then we identify what cards we can trade away and what we want to trade for.

At this age, game play isn’t the priority, it’s the fun in exploring the Pokémon universe and Ooing and Aweing at the powerful sparkly Pokémon creatures.
Great price. Preselected promos like these have lower Values then the more rare cards randomly put in booster packs.

But you dont buy a trainer set for collecting. The point of a trainer deck is to get a playable, simple pokemon game going between 2 people, each with a 30 card deck.

Great for first time players 5-10 years old. Might help if an adult is there to get them started.

Now, Standard decks are 60 cards, so these are modified rules to make it quick and easy for new or young players with 2×30 card decks.

You could buy 2 if these, then combine each 30 card deck to make 2x 60 card decks for a full / regular pokemon game. At this price that could also be fun and worth a try.

These starters are great for either option.

Great find – perfect for gifts to neighbor kids so they can all play together.

Age 6 maybe, but when Pokemon came out when I was 10-11, the TCG, I was totally about building a deck to smash the other kids. I traded for those good cards to show you up, not to see a shiny card. I’ll go get some basketball card with holojam or whatever on it for that.

Basically, I was an 11 year old who needed to win. And no better way than wiping that smirk off some bully’s face at school than with a pokemon he foolishly traded me.

Seems like an easy and cheap way to get my son (also 6) some more cards, so grabbed one. Thanks OP!

Hello! I am writing this review to let you know about this product. I just want to let you guys know that this product is well worth the price. For only, $10, you get a whole deck, a coin, and other trainer tips about pokemon. The packaged was neatly packed, and it was easy to open. I would recommend this Pokémon starter kit for anyone. I hope this helps 🙂
