Is the top part (along with the outside) also adjustable like on the newer Dohm Elite? Or can you only change tones by twisting the side on this model? I like this one and want a second – but need to points of tone adjustment as seen here:

Yes – the top and the side both rotate independently. –

We’ve had one of these for the last couple years, getting used for hours and hours each day and it’s still going strong.

These are amazing, my kid can’t sleep without one

I have three of these models (one for each room) plus the travel one (I travel frequently for work) and every one is going strong after years of use. The travel one is great – charges by USB, a full charge lasts at least 10 hours, and is small, lightweight, and is close enough to the Marpac signature sound to keep me happy when on the road.

My wife loves this

This price is not good at all! I paid round . According to CCC it was .25 in May 2018

was about to comment how I’ve had two in various amounts of use over 4 years, and both are not going strong still at all.

the older one (about 3.5 years worth of night time use) developed a horrible rattle noise about a year ago

the newer one (about 1.5 years old, bought to replace original) now has a droning noise.

it’s super annoying now due to the noticeable repetitiveness

we’ve been thinking of using these instead (have a few we use in other areas to drown out noise and they havent developed any bad habits albeit with less usage time)

maybe i’ve had bad luck, but once the 2nd one started developing issues, we decided to not sink any more money into the dohms

Started using one of these a couple a months ago (vs. a tower fan) and I love it. Already have an extra for baby’s room and a travel one, so I can’t justify buying another, but at that price, it’s tempting. Good find OP.

Just get a chromecast audio and a bluetooth speaker. About the same price and you can listen to music as well.

Totally agree. I have two and both have developed the same rattling issues that you describe. Contacted the company which said warranty is void after a year. I will not be sinking anymore money into these either.

We purchased three of these and ended up returning all three as each of them developed an issue where the push style power button would no longer stay pushed in or would take multiple tries to get it to stay pushed in. Seemed to be somewhat prevalent in the reviews.

CCC shows the lowest at today’s price so not sure what you’re looking at.

I have four of these. I love them. I give them as gifts to every friend who has a new baby. My first was for an open office to help drown out private conversations from a nearby kitchen that I really didn’t want to hear. My second was for my first baby. We got a third when my second was born and finally I got my own so I could sleep through my husband’s snoring.

They’re great. Until they rattle. There’s nothing more annoying than an inconsistent rattle. Determined not to spend another $50, I unscrewed the bottom of the worst offender. It was filled with dust. I cleaned it with compressed air and put the smallest drop of silicone lubricant, that specifically does not attract dust, onto the base of the shaft that the fan sits on top of. I let it penetrate for a minute, turned it on and the rattle was gone. $50 saved and I’m in love again.
