How do these compare to Gillettes? I see deals for it all the time.
Not very well. I bought Dorcos many times but the last time I ordered them they kept giving me razor bumps. I feel like the quality has gone down but for the price it could be worth it for you to try.
Second this. They work well at first but dull quickly.
Never falling for this again.
Gillettes are worth the extra money. These Dorco razors are good for a shave or 2, but expect some serious razor burn if you try to push them much past that.
Surprised to see so much hate for these… Been using these for over a year now and they have worked great for me (lasting a month or so with each head). Be sure to dry after each use.
In for some stocking stuffers.
I’ve had my original Dorco since the last deal (over a year ago?) And I still have a couple heads left. Maybe cause I’m Asian and I can’t grow a beard/mustache (RIP Movember). But in for another order that will hold me off for another 1-2 years. 😂
I agree Gilette is better but Dorco has amazing value. If you are a person who doesn’t grow full beards like myself then Dorco will be suffice. Dorco has ALOT of sales. I got the better Pace 6 razor for 2 dollars last time…
The four outlasts the six for me, I got nearly a month with four about three shaves with the six. Just got too much blade inventory built up right now or I’d be all over this.
I guess it really depends on how thick your beard is. For me, as much as I wanted to like Dorco and dump Gillette, it ended up being a disappointment.
I get 5:00 shadow by noon, but never anything i could consider not shaving. I use gilette at home, and dorco in my gym bag for days when i dont shave at home. Dorco arent as good, but are way cheaper and a damp gym bag isnt healthy for any blade .
- Four Blades = A Closer Shave – Tests prove higher blade counts deliver a closer, less irritating shave.
- Patented Angulated Blade Platform – Seamless blade construction leaves fewer obstacles for debris accumulation.
- Patented Common Docking System – Cartridge and handle interchangeability for shaving customization.
- Open Flow Cartridge – 100% “rinse-ability” of hair follicles eliminates corrosion for a longer blade life.
- Lubrication Strip – Chamomile, Olive Oil and Allantoin soothe and moisturize skin.
I’m a balding guy, so I shave my head all the time. I usually use Fusion Proglide razors, which are quite excellent. However, they are also quite excellent at obliterating your wallet.
I had a Headblade for awhile, but once you get the hang of proper head shaving, it becomes quite clear that that little yellow Hot Wheel razor on your head is much more gimmick than function.
Which led me to the Dorcos. I opted to try the 4 blades because I felt any higher would likely clog up too much with head shaving. I was thinking I could step down to 3 blades if necessary. The 4 blades do rinse well, and don’t really clog unless I go 8+ days without shaving my head. The Dorco shave is noticeably not as smooth as the Fusion, but is in no way uncomfortable. Its pretty much on par with the quality of the shave you’d get from a Headblade.
The cartridge life is very respectable, better than the Fusions, which degrade noticeable after a few shaves. But at this excellent of a price point, cartridge life is not really a concern. You will have to finesse the Dorcos a little more, as they don’t contour to the head as well as the Fusions, which means a few more passes, but at 80% of the performance of a Fusion at a fraction of the price, its worth the extra 30 seconds it may add to your shave. I will be sticking with these until all my hair falls out or I get a HT haha.
