After much research my wife and I purchased 2 refurbished units. 2 pc for under 500.00? What a great deal right? Well it is a great deal and a great pc!! We both are very happy with the purchase, performance and overall win with this pc. We were both looking for a 2in1 with windows os. It can handle multiple tabs open and does not slow down. The case could be a little more robust, but it’s good for someone who is careful. I don’t think it would handle too many drops. Overall, another great Asus product at a great price. Edit: don’t miss out on the Realtech audio settings, go in and adjust and trying different sounds themes. The sounds volume and quality are quite impressive, just another bonus!!

[Deal Review]:

This is a good candidate for a portable Mac Air like hackintosh without paying Apple prices.

Touch is actually useful in a Hackintosh. For example, you can use this like a tablet while doing a presentation and flip through slides, etc. with swipes and taps.

Thank you OP I bit. Repped. This is probably not for the gamers out there but for those of us that are looking for cheaper Surface alternative this is pretty close to perfect. If it had an i5 in it yes it would be completely perfect. But 3lb weight 1080p SSD HDD and 14″ touch screen plus an ASUS brand and not Lenovo or Acer.

Mind you Lenevo or Acer might be good I’m just not familiar with how reliable the brands are.

Plus the RAM and HDD appear to be upgradable based on a previous thread about this model.

Here is the link to the ASUS site for this Model

Are you saying this can be hackintoshed? With touch screen working?

I just bought the HP X360 15.6in 2 in 1 from Walmart today for 9…..haven’t opened the box yet.

How does this one stack up to the HP?….should I return and get this one?

I’ve been thinking about replacing my 5-year-old Asus X202E and this would be perfect as it’s about the same size and has the 14″ HD touchscreen as compared to my 11.6″

Problem is the old one is still going strong after an upgrade to SSD so it’s hard to justify spending the $ $ $

I’m looking for best bang for buck deal and i saw that costco had a good one for 299 not too long ago. Is this a comparable deal or should I wait for a better deal?

Yes. ASUS laptops are all good candidates for Hackintosh except the wireless card may need to be replaced depending on what make (atheros or broadcom) comes with it but that is very cheap and easy to do. I would swap out the bgn wifi this comes with an ac mini card in any case.

Touch screen actions basically look like mouse actions for MacOS on a hackintosh. Out of the box, nothing special needed.

And with a 8th gen cpu, it will outlast for macos updates more than Mac Airs with earlier CPUs.
Can you share the Link ?
Same. I’m continually tempted but I have a Samsung Chromebook Pro and no real need for a windows machine.

399 price is in store only. HDD not SSD.
Nice, I currently have ASUS laptop, and I admit that it is super versatile among OS. Keep in touch man, i want to know how to install macos on this thing. will have everything you need to know.
