Be careful that you don’t get a fake card. The one I received was not a genuine SanDisk card, but a poor quality counterfeit. When it would write at all, the max speed was 5MBs, no where near the 90MBs rating. I have many SanDisk cards – this one has incorrect packaging, a yellow lock tab, no serial number or Made in China on back, and phony looking shiny “gold” terminals. I alerted Amazon of this issue and they did a great job of making it right by me. As well, they will be investigating the reseller, who had many 1 star reviews for the same issue. Test your card before going off on a trip or photo assignment!
Amazon has the samsung 128gb u3 for 20$ …
Two pack three pack? Huh?
Those aren’t the same. These are the “Extreme” version, making them more ideal for things like dash cams and other devices that might be exposed to the elements. Samsung has a line of those called “Endurance” which are much more expensive than these are.
Edit: Also those are Micro SD and these are full size
“DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS
SanDisk Extreme SDHC and SDXC UHS-I Cards are shockproof, temperature-proof, waterproof, and X-ray-proof, so you can enjoy your adventures without worrying about the durability of your memory card.”
That’s what makes these cost more. And that’s why you would put these in things that are going to be exposed to extreme heat like a dash cam or something that will sit outside and possibly get wet
Compare the actual specs and not marketing speak.
The Samsung is faster and is what I have in my phone. But in the Wyze cam in my garage and the dash cams in the cars I use the Sandisk Exteme. I believe that using the Samsung Evo Select in a dash cam voids its warranty
Amazon one is also microsd which is in general slower than full size sd
Not in this case, the samsungs write faster
double check your dash cams – most dash cams use microsd, these are full sized SD cards
Yeah the Wyze cam and the dash cam are micro. But they’re the Sandisk Exteme.
That’s not the main difference.
Extreme read speed max is 160 while Evo select is 100.
Write speeds are about the same.
Also size difference. Extreme has no real life advantage over evo select even for same micro size.
